After years of co-productions, collaborations and partnerships with several publishers and publications worldwide, Martinez Gallery, in 2019 launched Martinez Books, an independent publishing unit based in New York City.

Martinez Books will continue to produce high-quality hardcover and paperback publications, exhibition catalogs, artists’ books and monographs directly tied to the contemporary art that defines the Martinez galleries (Martinez has exhibition spaces on both West 135th Street and West 207th Street in Manhattan).

The Incubator, the second published book by Martinez, covers the broad spectrum of graffiti culture through the works of 24 artists from North America, Europe, UK and Australia. Beyond disciplines, inhabiting a space between writing, drawing, urban intervention, cartoons, performance and the visual arts, the book shows us how this culture defines its aesthetics - developed through their experiences, explorations and social interactions.
